St. Jude

Milk Type: Cow
Dietary: Raw milk, Unpasteurised
Origin: Suffolk, England

“St. Jude is a lactic style cheese with a wrinkled, mould ripened rind and a smooth paste. Usually eaten between 2-5 weeks old St. Jude develops from a young, fresh and creamy cheese to more complex flavours leaning towards buttery in the winter and more vegetal, grassy notes when the cows are out to pasture”

Delicious soft cheese!

by on 21 July 2021

I love the creamy texture and subtle flavour. Great on crackers paired with a spiced plum chutney. I bought this from The Cheeseman at Norwich Market, which is well worth a visit for cheese lovers!

Sheepy, creamy, moreish – but still deciding

by Leo Phillips on 11 May 2021

Just verging on a little too ‘sheepy’ for me, though it did keep me coming back for another taste. I can imagine its creamy qualities lending itself very well to the right kind of pairing – strawberries or rosé were the suggestions and can see how they would work.

Enjoyed from the fabulous Neal’s Yard Dairy.

Marshmallow-like texture, strong sheep flavour

by AussieCheeseLover on 11 May 2021

I bought this at Neal’s Yard Dairy at Borough Market on the cheesemonger’s recommendation. I really like the texture, it’s extremely light and almost fluffy. The cheese is very creamy and clean-tasting at the start but has a powerful sheep’s taste by then end.
